SNC Moerdijk is a key strategic Chemicals Manufacturing site consisting of a Naphtha cracker complex, 2 Styrene/Propylene Oxide plants, an Ethylene Oxide and derivatives plant, Utilities and General facilities. The site employs around 850 Shell staff and 500 contract staff. 

Moerdijk is a modern, world scale, fully integrated manufacturing site and presents a wide range of professional and managerial challenges and opportunities. Moerdijk is connected to Pernis by pipelines for the exchange of feedstock and intermediates. Customers are served by pipeline, ship, rail or road tanker. 

Within the context of Moerdijk, this role provides an excellent opportunity for future leaders to further build on External Focus and Stakeholder Management skills, and be embedded in an HSSEQ team. 

For this exiting location we are currently looking for a Senior Advisor Environment to join our team. 

What is the role about? 
In this role, you are part of the team that is responsible for the Moerdijk environmental license to operate. You work closely with the plant units to understand their business challenges and to keep focus on further improvement of environmental performance. You are responsible for communication with local authorities like the Omgevingsdienst Midden- en West-Brabant (OMWB), Waterschap Brabantse Delta (WBD) and Rijkswaterstaat (RWS) to ensure we maintain our permits and our good reputation. 

As a Senior Advisor Environment your main task is to build and maintain an excellent relationship with formal authorities and ensuring a good reputation with all external stakeholders and work in close partnership with the production and technical support departments, the technology and project department in relation with environmental effects of current projects and evaluating future environmental laws. In this role you will act as an ambassador from Shell into these bodies.


What do we need from you?
To be successful in this role you have
*outstanding communication skills in Dutch (written and verbal) is a must
*demonstrable skills in reading and interpreting Dutch (environmental) laws in the context of an operating environment
*experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of petrochemical processes
*excellent negotiating skills
*good presentation skills
*good analytical skills and an eagerness to continuously learning and developing your knowledge
