QHSE Manager Abu Dhabi

JOB DETAILS 

CCL a specialist Oil and Gas recruiter have an urgent requirement for a QHSE Manager to work for an EPC company based in Abu Dhabi.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Jobholder is responsible for all QHSE related matters in the Company, including ensuring that an Integrated Management System is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the Company policies and relevant international codes and standards against which the system is certified, while maintaining the required third party certifications accordingly.

The Job holder reports to the Managing Director.

The Jobholder’s relationships include all internal divisions/departments and projects as well as external stakeholders, including third party certifying bodies and clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish, implement and maintain an integrated Management System encompassing all QHSE policies and procedures.

Advise management on defining QHSE policies, plans and objectives, as per client, statutory, regulatory and company QHSE management system requirements.

Ensure that the Company’s policies, practices, processes and procedures are maintained with respect to ISO9001/14001 and OHSAS18001 and any other required standards, recommended practices, regulations and their application are in line with certifying bodies’ requirements, Group’s Certification Program and organization’s business strategy.

Keep abreast of current QHSE industry trends, new legislative impacts and client requirements.

Identify and implement improved practices, processes and procedures as part of a continuous improvement initiative to ensure that the QHSE systems remain relevant and effective.

Generate regular reports to management on the effectiveness of the QHSE systems.
Plan and execute regular internal audits of the company’s QHSE systems.

Initiate corrective action in the event of system non-conformances.

Conduct gap analysis on compliance obligations pertaining to QHSE, Company KPIs and report to senior management.

Investigate accidents/incidents and prepare incident reports, identifying trends, provide corrective and preventive actions and recommending improvement plans.

Analyze, review and report to Management Team on QHSE leading and lagging indicators and trends.

Develop, facilitate and manage project QHSE plans and risk assessments as required.

Collate and communicate lessons learned from incidents or other opportunities for improvement.

Arrange and lead the periodic management review meetings and implement agreed actions.

Liaise with external auditors, certifying bodies and authorities with regard to QHSE matters.

Liaise between Clients on Company QHSE related issues.

Provide direction and guidance to the management team and employees on QHSE issues within the workplace and conduct internal training on QHSE matters to increase awareness and reduce related risks.

Ensure compliance of project teams and sub-contractors against contractual, company and client QHSE requirements.

Coordinate with inspection third parties and other outside agencies when required and supervise and coordinate the related activities.

Direct and manage the activities of assigned QHSE staff.

Execute administrative activities pertaining to the QHSE department.

Promote a healthy QHSE culture among employees and encourage employee participation in QHSE management.

Ideally the successful candidate will have the following:-

Strong QA experience in EPC oil and gas
Corporate experience.

Degree or equivalent in business, engineering or related field.

8 years + of experience in a managerial position related to QHSE, preferably in the Oil & Gas EPC contracting industry.

Extensive knowledge of ISO9001, 14001 and OHSAS18001 standards.

Lead auditor certification.

Knowledge of QHSE related applicable legislation, regulations and relevant codes.

High order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a multinational environment with wide exposure to various cultures and customs.

Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal) with a high level of competency and accuracy in writing and maintaining clear and professional documentation relating to integrated management systems.

Strong planning, organization, teamwork and presentation skills.

Computer literate with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) to a proficient level.
