EHS Specialist Job in ON-Milton, Canada
Coordinate and implement programs and procedures to meet division objectives and targets in EHS, including a focus on these key areas: • Conducting regular hazard assessments • Scheduling and conducting orientation training • Conducting accident and incident investigations to support determination of root cause and resolution. • Ensuring EHS regulatory compliance for all provinces • Coordinating all EHS safety training and awareness (onsite, offsite and online) • Supporting and managing corrective actions from Corporate EHS audits. • Work with EHS Division Manager to insure compliance with Corporate EHS policy and directives. • Enforcing all established safety regulations and safe work practices and ensure work place inspections are completed as required. • Tracking internal EHS metrics, plans and goals. • Directing the division’s resource management program (waste, energy) • Supporting team concepts, diversity, and coaching in all efforts.Qualifications
Education/Experience: • BS Degree in a technical field (preferably EHS) or Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation • Minimum 5 years of EHS compliance experience in a manufacturing environment • Experience in ergonomics and behavior-based safety a plus. • Recognized third party certification (CSP and/or CIH), or in progress Skills: • Project Management experience • Familiarity with Management systems (Gensuite, Resource Manager and Humantech an asset) • Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant regulations • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel and Access. • Ability to plan and implement EHS programs. • Be an advocate for safety through effective communication, presentations and educational delivery • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently with little direction as well as in a team setting • Possess exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills. • Certified JHSC member and experience in leading safety talks or discussions. • Completion of safety-related workshops, seminars and training courses • Must be flexible with hours of work and be able to travel occasionally. • Must hold a valid first aid certificateClosing Statement
